Old Man

CEPHALOCEREUS

Cephalocereus.

DESCRIPTION: This is the lastest picture of our "Old Man". He is about 10 years old and was about 4 inches tall when we got him. This group of cacti is native to Mexico. In the wild he can get up to 50 feet tall, but is very slow growing. When it's old enough we may see some flowers and seed pods. I hope so.

The silky spines are thickest at the top, and when they become dirty, they can be washed and carefully combed. He's one of our favorites
