Lumber Yard Field Trip

Once while out rail-fanning a came across this small lumber yard delivery point, which was right off of the main line. This small operation is in Pomona, CA. It was great fun nosing around and taking pictures. This real-life lumber yard is what what gave me the inspiration for the nscale version on my layour.

This is main gate through which the lumber cars are delivered. The spur cuts right across second street, which runs parallel to the main. In this photo the yard is mostly empty, but right after a delivery, it's full of lumber-ladened cars.
