First Camping Trip
Our first camping trip to Pineknot Camp Ground in Big Bear Lake, CA was a success. We tried out everything on the PUP and all went well. Here are some pictures to enjoy.
Here's Mama saying hello after set up.

In the kitchen and cooking.

Yes, I got into the act also. The outside stove was awesome.

Breakfast time with Uncle Dave and David.

A look back at the site.

All in all it was a great first trip. The generator ran a bit shaky in the high altitude, but it was great to have air conditioning when we needed it. It actually got really hot up there. The AC bogged down a bit when we fired up the coffee maker. It's amazing how much power that small appliance actually draws.
We did have a small issue with the refrigerator which was venting heat and fumes into the cabin while running on propane. We took it back to the dealer who hopefully fixed the problem by repositioning the insulation from the outside venting area. The refrigerator worked great. Even with the heater running a few times at night and the refrigerator running 24/7 we barely made a dent in the propane reserves of the first tank.
We also discovered a manufacturing flaw in the stitching of the tent surrounding the dinning area. The dealer has ordered a new one for us.
Hopefully we have done our last SPUT by closing the bed slides into the kitchen faucet and denting it, because it was swung into the path of the bed rail. We have ordered a new one. Getting out of the driveway was a bit more difficult because the added tongue weight drove the wheel post into the driveway concrete even though we had it raised as far as it would go. I have ordered a new adjustable drawbar to raise the trailer tongue a bit, which should also help leveling the trailer while towing. Looking forward to our trip to the High Sierras.
